Designer's notes
The trick to a rainbow room that doesn't read "kindergarten classroom" is keeping the rest of the palette quiet: cream walls, warm honey-toned floors, and a single saturated accent (here, the chenille pink armchair) doing the heavy lifting. Everything else stays in the dialled-down register: pastel curtains, a rainbow-arch rug whose colour does most of the talking, and a hamper that picks up just two of the rug's tones.
The cottage-style play tent is the room's anchor. Pitched-roof play structures read as architecture rather than toy, creating a "room within a room" that gives kids a defined retreat without hauling in a piece of furniture. Pair it with bunting and fairy lights for the storybook feel, then keep the surrounding decor stripped back so the tent stays the hero.
The teddy shelf is doing double duty: storage and styling. Vertical cubbies turn a thirty-strong stuffed-animal collection from clutter into a display. When stuffies have a "home," the room reads orderly even mid-play.
Every piece is priced under sixty dollars and ships from Amazon. The whole room comes in around $220. Tap any dot in the scene above to grab the exact item.
